Get a Long Term Business Visa or permit
A Long Term Business Visa (LTBV) allows its holder to stay in New Zealand as a self-employed person for up to three years.
If you’re accepted under the LTBV category, you’ll first be given a work visa that will expire after nine months, allowing you time to take the steps to establish your business. Before the end of nine months you can apply for a further work visa to take your stay up to a total of three years.
This visa can be used as a step towards gaining residence in New Zealand through the Entrepreneur category.
