Who We Are
Wattie’s is an important contributor to the highly successful global food business of the H. J. Heinz Company. We are continually striving to be an outstanding food manufacturer and marketer through a combination of outstanding service, talented people, innovation, quality and product excellence.
Wattie’s first opened for business in New Zealand in 1934. Sixty-four years later in March 1998 they joined forces to become Heinz Wattie’s Limited. The company has come a long way since canned pears came out of J. Wattie Canneries, a four-room cottage in Hastings, New Zealand.
Wattie’s is owned by the H. J. Heinz Company, which operates from Pittsburgh in the United States. Globally, the company accounts for sales in excess of $7 billion. We have an annual turnover of approximately $650 million dollars with strong local and export markets.
Wattie’s produces a wide range of popular fresh, canned, frozen and dehydrated products for retail and food service customers, as well as export markets throughout the world.
Some of our best known brand names include: Wattie's, Oak, Heinz, Weight Watchers, Craig's, Eta, Greenseas, Farleys, The Good Taste Company, Champ, Chef, and Hellabys.
Our people are vital to Wattie’s success. It is through our company values that we can become one of the country’s premier workplaces.
