Who we are
In New Zealand, ING’s objective is to help clients meet their financial goals through the accumulation, investment and protection of assets. Products and services offered include investment and savings, wholesale/institutional investment management, and life insurance.
Operations in New Zealand began in 1989 under the name Armstrong Jones. The company joined ING in 2002 and six years later changed its name to ING (NZ) Limited.
Since then, through acquisition and joint venture arrangements, ING has swiftly transformed from boutique investment company to full financial services provider. Under a joint venture between ING and New Zealand’s largest retail bank, ING is the investment manager and product provider of a range of investment and insurance solutions, accessible through the bank’s nationwide branch network.
ING takes special pride in our strong track record in industry awards and surveys: we’ve been named Fund Manager of the Year in 12 of the last 15 years by independent global research house Morningstar, including the current year.
This accelerated growth and success has put ING at the top of the tree as the largest manager of retail funds in New Zealand (as at 31 July 2007). We also hold a leading position in the life insurance and property markets.
