Applying for a New Zealand Work to Residence permit

Here is a brief outline of the Work to Residence policies you can apply under to get a work permit.

Talent (Arts, Culture and Sports)

For people with recognised talents and abilities in the arts, culture or sports fields, whose time in New Zealand will enhance the country’s reputation.

Your skill should be required by a New Zealand organisation of national repute. You have exceptional talent and international reputation in your field, you are still prominent in that field and you will enhance New Zealand’s participation and accomplishments.

Long Term Skills Shortage List

For people who have a genuine offer of employment in an occupation on the Long Term Skills Shortage List for which you are suitably skilled or qualified. The offer must be full time (on average, at least 30 hours a week) for a term of at least two years.

Talent (Accredited Employers) Residence policy

For people who have a genuine offer of employment in NZ from an employer who is accredited to recruit staff from overseas. You need to be suitably qualified for the position and it should be full time employment for two years with an annual salary of at least NZ$50,000 (gross).
