We are looking for candidates who want to be part of a design team designing new large diameter interceptor sewers and associated trunk sewage pump stations. Opportunities also exist for involvement in larger irrigation schemes and other water, stormwater and wastewater related work.
Requirements :
BE or BSc in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
Skills
-Design of sewage pipework and pump systems, reticulation and trunk mains
-Understanding of wider civil engineering implications of design (e.g impact on roading, stormwater, structural and building aspects etc)
-Preparation of drawings suitable for construction
-Training or knowledge of MOUSE or INFOWORKS or similar hydraulic modelling
-Ability to prepare clear and concise specifications and reports related to the design.
-Development of conceptual pump station and pipeline system designs including construction drawings.
Knowledge
-Wastewater transfer and reticulation pipe systems
-Knowledge of pumps and pump selection
-Knowledge of material selection for sewage systems
-Aware of financial implications of design
Experience
-Must have had at least 5 years experience of which 3 should be in pipelines and/or sewage pump station design
-Experience in sewage systems preferred, although water pipeline design could also be acceptable
-Some level of on-site or construction experience is desirable
-Preferably experience of working in consulting environment-but not essential
