Industrial Design Verifiers

Location: Wellington / Wairarapa, Wellington

Position: Engineering, Mechanical Design Engineering

World leader in Inspection, Testing and Certification requires additional senior and intermediate Mechanical Design Engineers. Duties involve verifying the designs of boilers, pressure vessels, pipe work etc. to meet OH&S and regulatory standards.

A vacancy exists in our client’s Wellington office situated close to shops, cafes and the sea. They require experienced people to join a small team of specialists.

Opportunities have now arisen in their Wellington office for a Senior Design Verifier and design verifiers.
Duties involve verifying the designs of boilers, pressure vessels, pipe work and other industrial equipment to meet OH&S, non statutory and regulatory standards for the NZ industrial sector.

The group needs people who have good commercial acumen, are team players, and are self-motivated. A flexible attitude, attention to detail and excellent communication skills (written and oral) including fluent English are required. Proven related experience is also required and computer literacy is essential including fluency in design and stress related software. Candidates must have a good understanding and proven knowledge of relevant standards and codes (ASME, AS and BS).

The Senior Design Verifier will have a recognised tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years experience in the design of pressure equipment.

Design Verifiers:
The design verifiers will have a recognised tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering and at least 2 years experience in the design of pressure equipment.

Applicants should have experience with a major fabricator or engineering consultant associated with the power, process or petrochemical industries and the desire to join a small specialised team where they will be encouraged to provide ideas and promote new business to the industry.
