This position is one requiring experience and skills in a wide range of traffic engineering tasks. The appointee will be jointly responsible for assisting in the ongoing development of all business areas, but with a particular emphasis on the traffic engineering and traffic planning arm of the business, in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Strategic Plan.
The position involves developing, maintaining and supervising all aspects of the traffic engineering and transportation planning work. This includes initial client contact; securing the job; project management; supervision of traffic surveys and data analyses; undertake and / or supervise traffic model development; preparation of final reports for presentation to the client; and if necessary the preparation and presentation of evidence at hearings.
The position has a significant team leadership role that includes the joint co-ordination of traffic engineering teams both within the Wellington office, and between offices when required. Staff supervision and staff training forms an integral part of this process.
