Responsibilities include:
* Desk-based assessments of sites or site areas including studies of aerial photographs, research and review of published and unpublished data, to guide investigation and design or hazards studies.
* Field investigations including field mapping of surface features to expand the understanding of a site or region or as a basis for hazard or risk evaluation.
* Direction of drilling crews, detailed logging of boreholes, sampling and monitoring.
* Computer-aided data analysis and evaluation including slope stability analysis and groundwater flow modelling,
* Developing sound judgement with respect to geological models, slope behaviour and groundwater flow.
