A key management role within a leading civil contractor based in Gisborne. Primarily drainage with general civil work this role will suit a go-getter!
Gisborne boasts some of the most scenic regions in New Zealand and produces some of the best wine in the world. It is also home to a successful and developing department as part of a much larger civil contractor. Leaders in their field this contractor boasts locations throughout New Zealand as well as divisions within parts of Australia.
Currently there is a need for a Department Manager to take charge of the Drainage/Civil part of the business. Work is shared between projects of various size and long term maintenance contracts with local councils. Main areas of success include;
• Stormwater, Water and Sewer construction
• Subdivision development
• Civil construction
• Project Management
As department manager you will be expected to orchestrate projects making the most of your team and facilities available. You will use your experience of managing teams to bring the best out of individuals and enable them to gain the best from their career with guidance and training. You will have experience within the civil industry but not necessarily be a specialist in any one field. The role will be tailored to the successful individual in order to make it challenging. With that in mind candidates who currently hold the role of supervisor, engineer or department manager are encouraged to apply.
An excellent salary including a vehicle and other perks will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
