These projects allow their staff to gain exposure to a wide range of clients and develop specialisations within their chosen discipline. The landscape teams are based in the major centres that operate across New Zealand. You will be involved in taking projects from the early planning stages through to construction. Much of the work is large scale infrastructure projects, highways and waterways, while other work occurs at local level in realising the aspirations of local communities, through parks, schools and town centres. You will work in a multidiscipline design environment and work closely with engineers, architects, planners and environmental/heritage/Maori consultants, and have the opportunity to influence development and contribute to good sustainable solutions.
You will have gained expertise in visual assessment and hard landscape design detailing. Ideally you will possess a degree, or post-graduate qualification in landscape architecture and enjoy a design-led approach to landscape architecture. Of course you will be able to communicate graphically as well as communicate well to clients. You will use Autocad, Photoshop, and InDesign and enjoy construction detailing and contract administration. You will need to be ambitious and motivated as huge development opportunities will be provided, and as such the responsibilities of the role will be tailored to provide a challenging environment no matter what previous experience you have.
