Civil Construction Manager-Auckland Central-International Contractor

Location: Auckland, Auckland City

Position: Engineering, Civil Engineering

Join one of New Zealand’s most prestigious civil contractors. Be part of a talented and committed team working on a major water & wastewater contract.

This long established civil contractor is locally represented throughout the North and South Island and has made great headway in Australia. Their work covers virtually all the civil disciplines including roading, drainage, earthworks, water & waste water, maintenance, construction and traffic management. Having the right people in the right roles is essential for them to retain their high standards and as such they are constantly on the lookout for excellent engineers to join them. This position is no exception and they are extensively looking to fill the key role of Construction Manager.

The new Construction Manager will be in charge of an alliance between contractor, client, consultant and subcontractors working on major water and wastewater project south of the Auckland CBD. The plan is to separate the combined sewer and stormwater pipes in the area through the construction of new stormwater and wastewater assets. The team is already assembled but needs the Construction Manager to step in and take charge of the project. Main attributes looked for in the new Construction Manager include;

• An NZCE or equivalent civil qualification
• Management experience within the construction/civil industry
• Commercial understanding
• An appreciation of drainage works and pipe laying
• Alliance experience (not essential but would be a bonus)
• Experience with subcontractors

This is a role that offers future opportunities once this contract has been completed and should appeal to those with high career aspirations. An excellent salary will be offered as part of a lager package which will include a vehicle and superannuation (kiwi saver). The package will be negotiated between both parties and reflect the experience of the applicant and the expectations of the company. If this is an opportunity that appeals then I look forward to hearing from you and discussing it further.
