Capacity is the Water and Drainage Asset Management Company for Wellington, Lower and Upper Hutt City Councils.
Capacity operates as an independent service provider to these Councils, and manages in excess of 4500Km of piping, 100 reservoirs and 140 pumping stations throughout the Wellington Region. As our service grows, we need bring to the team a Senior Drainage Engineer.
In this Petone based role, you will be responsible for:
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
• Manage, monitor and report on all planned and ad hoc projects.
• Oversee projects and contracts for design and investigation work relating to water and drainage assets.
• The delivery and reporting of Annual Plan drainage and water supply Capex and Opex programmes.
ASSET MANAGEMENT
• Manage drainage investigations and small designs.
• Compile and manage the forward work programmes.
• Carry out major and minor strategic investigations on water and drainage assets.
• Develop and instigate projects that will add value to the assets we manage.

It’s a role that will require you to:
• Be BE or NZCE (civil) or similar qualified
• Preferably be CPEng or REA registered
• Have a minimum of 10 years ‘Wet Infrastructure” experience
• Have a proven track record in team leadership
• Have strong design and project management skills
• Possess a sound understanding of current legislation, codes and the RMA
• Have good computer skills, including reading CAD drawings, etc.
This is a Senior position and is pivotal in Capacity being able to provide the services we all take for granted to the people of Wellington.
