Gisborne is situated on the East Coast of the North Island. The region has a population of approximately 46,000 and is well known for its relaxed lifestyle and its beautiful rural and beach environments. Local schools are excellent and real estate is affordably priced.

Gisborne Hospital, commissioned in 1986 is modern, spacious and attractive. A contemporary Maternity unit and comprehensive surgical service are supported by a full range of diagnostic facilities including a new helical CT scanner and 24 hour on-site laboratory facilities. The successful applicant will enjoy the opportunity to practice as a Paediatrician in a stimulating, non-metropolitan hospital environment and to develop a subspecialty interest.

We are currently seeking a General Paediatrician to join our Maternal Child & Youth Group here at Tairawhiti District Health. To be considered for this role you must hold one of the following qualifications:
• Fellowship of Paediatrics from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, or,
• FRCP (London, Ireland, Edinburgh, Glasgow), or,
• Membership of the Royal College of Physicians accompanied by the Certificate of Accreditation in Paediatrics from the joint Committee of Higher Medical Training in the UK, or,
• Certificate of the American Board of Paediatrics and a minimum of two years clinical experience in Paediatrics following certification.
