Working in New Zealand

Carbon Manager-00719

Location: Auckland, Auckland City

Position: Engineering, Environmental Engineering

Would you like to become a part of an award winning team - where you will have an opportunity to develop your own client portfolio and team with the full support of the Beca business behind you?

We are looking for a "Carbon Manager" to join our Environmental Team.
This is a position for an established and proven specialist in the fields of greenhouse gas emissions and carbon management. As the successful applicant you will need the technical and personal skills necessary to develop this as a technical skill/discipline within Beca and slowly develop your own team.

As someone who is fully conversant with applicable (and emerging) New Zealand and relevant overseas legislation and guidance related to greenhouse gases, you will be involved in undertaking carbon footprinting work and providing advice to clients on the topic of greenhouse gas emissions management. You will also assist clients to indentify greenhouse gas risks, targets and policy development. You will have the full support and assistance of the Environmental Section Manager on all matters, but especially on responsibilities relating to business development, marketing and business planning.

In order to successfully deliver on the requirements as outlined above, it is envisioned that you will have the following skills, attributes and experience:

* An appropriate tertiary qualification in environmental science/engineering or related
* A proven track record as an environmental practitioner, preferably within a consulting role.
* A recent track record on projects relating to carbon/greenhouse emissions
* Excellent knowledge of carbon/greenhouse gas relevant legislation and policies
* Excellent communications skills as report writing and advising/presenting to clients will be an important part of this role
* Good interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and manager others
* Proven project management skills
* Strong commercial sense and the ability to manage a budget

This role is an ideal opportunity for someone to develop a team and a workload within an area that will become increasingly important in coming years. You will have the full support of the business - as well as access to systems and resources which have already resulted in the awards for excellence and innovation.

You can expect a highly competitive package, along with plenty of support and development opportunities, combined with an enjoyable team environment. It is also important to note that after developing an internal track record of excellent performance, it is highly likely that you will be invited to participate in the company share-holding scheme.
