Southland Hospital is one of New Zealand’s most modern having been rebuilt six years ago. A secondary level facility you’ll find we have first class facilities, you’ll have first rate peer support and a breadth of caseload you’ll find stimulating. Our team of six physicians truly do deal with it all – sharing equally in an acute roster, providing both in-patient and out-patient services and of course pursuing their specialty interest. You’ll be well supported by Registrars and House Officers and participate in a 1:5 on-call roster.

Invercargill? It’s in the south of New Zealand’s South Island, surrounded by national parks. It’s not a big city and the pace of life and lack of big city pressures reflect it. We’ve an abundance of amenities, educational (primary through tertiary) facilities, arts scene and cultural life. We have space to burn, fresh air to share, and a sense of community many lament having lost.   Up the road we’ve Queenstown and Central Otago – summer and winter playgrounds whatever your passion.  

You’ll need to be eligible for registration in NZ and ideally have an interest in developing teaching opportunities, something our links to the University of Otago and Otago School of Medicine encourage.
