Our client is an international professional services company with offices throughout New Zealand.

Due to continued growth, they have an opportunity for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to develop and lead their geotechnical team in the Wellington Region.

Your role will be to lead a group of engineering geologists and geotechnical engineers in the delivery of projects throughout the lower North Island of New Zealand. You will also assist the NZ Geotechnical Manager in market development, client management and the growth of the geotechnical team within Wellington and New Zealand.

Key to this role will be:
Technical review and monitoring of geotechnical projects
Establishing and building on new and existing relationships
Winning repeat business
Preparing submissions in response to tenders and client requests

Other responsibilities will include:
Financial management programming
Quality control
Managing technical inputs from team members and sub consultants

Design management roles will include preparation of geotechnical reports for urban and rural roads, highways, land development, civil structures, water and sewer pipelines and associated facilities, both in New Zealand and abroad.

The successful candidate is likely to be chartered or near chartered with a Masters qualification in a geotechnical discipline.

Key attributes include:
 A minimum of 10 years experience within a consulting environment is preferred.
Good communication skills both verbal and written, preparing reports and delivering presentations are essential.
display a high level of self-motivation, energy and confidence to motivate, and mentor junior members.
