Dunedin Hospital is a tertiary hospital with close links to the University of Otago, one of New Zealand’s leading research Institutes.
The successful candidate will have a broad Internal Medicine background and will be expected to participate in a 1 in 8 on call roster. You will be joining a dedicated team of seven senior staff who primarily provide acute inpatient care for patients. Weekly half-day Outpatient Clinics held in our satellite hospitals in the Otago region will also be part of the successful applicant’s duties.
The Internal Medicine physicians also contribute to the professional development and supervision of the supporting team of Registrars, House Officers and students at Dunedin Hospital. Teaching sessions are a regular feature of our department and include formal lectures, weekly journal club, medical forums, grand rounds and audit meetings. The Physicians pride themselves on providing excellent Registrar exam preparation courses and enjoy a nearly 100% success rate.
