The School of Government wishes to fill a vacancy arising from retirement. Appointment may be made at any level: Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor or Professor, depending upon the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant. The position is permanent.

Applications are invited from candidates whose teaching experience and research interests lie within public economics and broadly related social policy. A PhD in a relevant area is required. The successful applicant would be expected to bring to, and prosecute in these roles an active and productive research programme which is of interest to the major economic government agencies. Significant working experience in, or strong engagement with the public sector is highly desirable. This might, for example, include working in or for government.
