The Anaesthesia Department is supported by a staff of four fully trained anaesthetic technicians.
The anaesthetic technicians work a 1:4 weekend call roster teaming up with the consultant anaesthetist during call outs.
As there are no anaesthesia registrars in Greymouth the opportunities for an anaesthetic technician can be challenging within their scope of practice. Grey Base Hospital offers a unique setting to extend your skills and promotes excellent training opportunities.
