Transpower New Zealand is investing significantly in NZ’s transmission infrastructure and as part of a $2billion investment programme, has been granted regulatory approval for a major new project to reinforce electricity supply to the North Auckland and Northland (NAaN) regions. Project NAaN comprises a 37km 220kV underground transmission cable through Auckland city plus two new indoor substations.

The Programme Manager Cabling will lead the design, procurement, and delivery of the underground cable assets, and prepare the operational team for the ongoing operation of the system. This is an exciting opportunity to take a leadership role on a highly visible and technically interesting project, reporting to the Project Director.

You need to demonstrate:

·         Specialist expertise in extra high voltage cabling, particularly in design;

·         A track record of successfully managing underground cabling projects at a project manager or similar senior level; and

·         Relevant knowledge of international cabling suppliers and installers.
