The Crime and Justice Research Centre (CJRC) at Victoria University is unique in New Zealand in its capacity to provide research and consultancy services on crime and criminal justice responses. The Centre concentrates on policy-focused research, often evaluative in nature and done under contract to government and public sector agencies. CJRC is based with the Institute of Criminology in the School of Social and Cultural Studies. The Director will have a demonstrated record of relevant research & publication particularly experience in managing and undertaking applied and policy related research projects, qualitative and quantitative skills and experience in both evaluation and multivariate research, excellent staff management skills and a graduate qualification in a relevant discipline; This is a permanent appointment but other employment arrangements such as a fixed term contract or secondment would not be precluded.
