We seek a dynamic and visionary academic leader for undergraduate and post-graduate educational programs and research within our School of Architecture. You will strengthen and enhance the current multi-disciplinary design capability of the Faculty of Architecture and Design which incorporates, architecture, building science, interior architecture and landscape architecture within the School of Architecture and industrial design and digital media in the School of Design.
You will be an exceptional academic or professional leader and educator who holds a PhD or equivalent research/professional recognition. You will also have extensive teaching and research experience in relevant built environment design disciplines and be fully networked into national, regional and international industry, professional and research communities. Candidates whose expertise covers more than one professional or academic discipline will be given preference. Applications from professionals and educators with an interest in Maori / Pacific Nations architecture and building are encouraged.
In addition to the above role, the University will shortly be advertising a 0.4fte, 3-Year Fixed Term appointment as Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design. Suitably qualified applicants may be interested in taking on a split role of Professor of Design (0.6fte) and Dean (0.4fte) for this period, after which they would become a full-time Professor of Design. Applicants interested in such an arrangement are asked to note their interest in their application.
