With the Forensic Psychiatric and Intellectual Disabilities Services at Otago DHB you’ll not only be working in a great part of NZ but you’ll also be moving your career in the right direction.

Our Forensic team is one of only two regional services in the South Island and includes a secure 13 bed inpatient ward, community team and prison and court liaison service offering a developing level of specialisation and expertise in your chosen field.

It is an exciting time for a Consultant to join us at the Intellectual Disabilities Service as they undergo significant development over the coming years. The service comprises a 13 bed unit, with a planned increase, a behavioural support team and a consultation-liaison service. You’ll be encouraged to contribute to the expansion of the service and there is ample scope to develop your role within the continuum of services. With the choice of either a permanent or a locum contract and flexibility in the way the position is structured you really have the chance to create your own position.

To be successful in these roles you’ll need to be flexible, committed to quality service delivery and development, and able to work effectively as a senior clinician within a multidisciplinary team.

Fellowship with the RANZCP or the equivalent is essential and you must be eligible for registration with the NZ Medical Council www.mcnz.org.nz.
