We are inviting applications from experienced Medical Registrars to join our team at the Taranaki District Health Board.  In this medium sized hospital you have the opportunity to build strong working relationships across all levels and be surrounded by a supportive learning environment. 

This position is based in New Plymouth, where you can enjoy a healthy lifestyle with access to a diverse range of outdoor activities such as skiing, surfing and hiking. 

On this run there are seven Registrars and two relievers which cover six Consultant Physicians and an AT&R Consultant.  The run is accredited as a training position for specialist qualification for the FRACP for a maximum of two years.

Clinical Responsibilities:

Registrars on this run provide services principally to the medical wards 1, 5, ICU, A&E and Outpatients Department under the supervision of the consultant to whom they are attached.  The Registrar under the supervision of their consultant also provides consultation on medical care in other services within Taranaki Base Hospital.

You also have regular meetings, such as the Medical Services clinical meeting and Radiology review sessions. There are also training opportunities with a weekly journal club and clinical ground rounds.
