Charge Nurse Manager
Always aspired to a management role?
Respiratory/Cardiac/Thoracic (Ward 7a)
If you’ve clear visions of your role as a Charge Nurse Manager and know what a positive difference competence makes we can only see you thriving here. If it’s a step in to management you are after and you’ve the attitude and aptitude we’ll support you. If you’re an experienced Nurse Manager looking for something a little more unique clinically you’ll relish this too. Ours is a unique Ward in a hospital the size of Dunedin – combining both medical and surgical disciplines. As you’ll appreciate it’s an environment demanding very sound clinical skills. It may sound clichéd but you’ll find a content, well run and well experienced team here. A Registered Nurse (PDRP 3 -4) you’ll have a relevant post-graduate sub specialty qualification and a track record of stepping up – doing just that little more. You’ll have complete responsibility for the ward – financial management, production planning, quality, and risk along with staff education, development and recruitment. Operationally you’ll turn your hand to supervision, mentoring, bed management and liaison with other departments. You’ll report to a Service Manager who encourages autonomy, expects the accountability that comes with that and underpins you with managerial support and experience.
