We have opportunities available in our Hamilton & Napier branches for Protection Technicians. You will be working in the fields of power system protection, primary plant testing and commissioning, and SCADA systems. This is a pivotal role in the area of HV projects and maintenance within the transmission and distribution environments. You will be responsible for equipment testing at pre-commissioning and commissioning stages, diagnostics and planned maintenance work. 

Tasks will range from:

  • Protection Systems, all maintenance, replacement, fault finding and analysis.

  • Completion of electrical testing of HV Plant and Protection Relays, reporting and ‘As Built’ drawings to meet client contract requirements.

  • Carrying out pre-commissioning and commissioning, maintenance, installation and testing of HV primary and secondary equipment.

  • Completion of written test reports.

  • SCADA systems, all maintenance and replacement work. 

  • The Protection Technician will also be required for standby duties including fault escalation and response to emergency call outs.

To be successful you will have Power Equipment accepted Technician status, it would be advantageous to have Maintenance Switching and/or Power Equipment Commissioning experience. Protection Technician training and qualifications would be highly regarded.
