Anaesthetist

We have several clients who are currently seeking qualified Anaesthetists for both permanent and temporary positions in New Zealand’s beautiful South Island. These positions vary, but all offer a high degree of autonomy and the chance to work with experienced and dedicated consultants. You may choose to mentor junior medical staff if this interests you.

Locations

Southland
Southland is home to two of New Zealand's national parks offering opportunities for superb hiking and scenery, whilst internationally acclaimed fishing and a wide range of other outdoor pursuits are also available.  Five top New Zealand snowboarding/skiing destinations are also within easy driving distance.

Christchurch
Christchurch City is alive with colour, atmosphere and world-class attractions. Known as the 'Garden City', Christchurch has many beautiful parks and gardens throughout the city. It is a vibrant, cosmopolitan place with exciting festivals, theatre, modern art galleries, great shopping and award-winning attractions. With much of the city being flat and only a few metres above sea level, spectacular views can be obtained from almost any high building.

Dunedin
Dunedin, in the Otago region, is New Zealand's oldest city. It is well-known for its Victorian and Edwardian architecture and its close proximity to amazing wildlife. Visits to see the world's rarest penguins, the world's only mainland breeding colony of the Royal albatross and rare New Zealand sealions are all possible within a short drive of the city centre.

Essential skills and qualifications
·    First and/or post graduate qualification from the UK
·    Eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand under vocational scope
·    At least one year experience in a similar role
·    Willing to commit to at least one year in New Zealand
