From holiday to permanent home

Heidi first visited New Zealand on holiday, and the lifestyle, people and scenery really appealed to her. “I enjoyed my job and life in London, but always felt there was something more out there, and New Zealand has that.”

ESR offered a smooth transition, and the opportunity for Heidi to share her experience and develop her career in forensics. After an initial 12-month contract, Heidi has accepted a permanent job with ESR and made New Zealand her home. “I now live close to work, so there's plenty of time to escape to the beach and enjoy the late afternoon surf.

“I'm a keen scuba diver and New Zealand has some of the best dive sites in the world – all within a few hours drive of my home. I share the country's passion for rugby and have been lucky enough to see the All Blacks play twice. But my heart still belongs to England for the World Cup!

“The outdoor lifestyle has definitely rubbed off on me – I completed my first marathon in Auckland in 2006 and can't wait to hit the slopes next season. New Zealand is an amazing country, and one I'm happy to spend the rest of my life exploring.”
