Moving to New Zealand?
It may be one of the biggest and most exciting challenges you’ll ever undertake. We understand how complicated and time consuming moving to a new country can be, so whether you’re moving to New Zealand to live or study, we can help set up your bank accounts before you even leave home, meaning that’s one less thing for you to worry about after you arrive in New Zealand.
Setting up a bank account before you leave home
- If you plan to live in New Zealand for six months or more, we can help you open a transaction or savings account in New Zealand before you leave home
- You can then transfer funds across and have ready access to your money when you arrive*
- Your ATM card (also known as a ‘cash card’) will be ready for you to pick up when you first visit an ANZ branch in New Zealand
- If you will be working in New Zealand and already have a job in hand, you can provide your employer with your ANZ bank account number, to get your salary paid into.
*Accounts will not be active for withdrawals until you arrive in New Zealand, our Account Mandates forms have been completed and original identification documentation (e.g. a passport) has been sighted.
