Will age affect my visa application?
Skilled Migrant Category
To apply for a visa under the Skilled Migrant Category, you must be between the ages of 20 and 55.
When applying, age is a factor in the overall points tally. Younger applicants will gain more points as Immigration New Zealand is looking for migrants who can make long-term contributions.
Points allocated per age group:

| 20 – 29 years | 20 points |
| 30 – 39 years | 25 points |
| 40 – 44 years | 20 points |
| 45 – 49 years | 10 points |
| 50 – 55 years | 5 points |
Other visa age requirements
Working Holiday visa applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 30, and Work to Residence applicants must be under 55.
If moving to New Zealand under the Family Category age is not restricted, but those over 17 will have to provide police check documents as proof of good character.
