How many points can I claim on my EOI?
When applying for a visa under the Skilled Migrant Category, your first step is to submit what is called an Expression of Interest (EOI). When doing this, you will be able to claim points for your work experience, skills and other factors.
Your EOI will then be entered into a pool. If you have 140 or more points, you are automatically selected to apply under the Skilled Migrant Category. If there are any remaining places, Immigration New Zealand will select as many additional applicants with points of 100 or more as possible during the fortnightly selection.
You can enter the pool as soon as you reach 100 points, but your chances of being selected get higher the more points you have.
