About the role:

 

Due to internal movements, our Sealing business in Canterbury & Tasman is on the hunt for a highly motivated leader who has the capability of driving this business into the future.

 

Based in Christchurch, this is a crucial role within our South Island Sealing Business and one which has a genuine impact on its success. A comprehensive role, youll have responsibility for both operational and financial performance and drive efficiencies with a commitment to developing your team and managing resources effectively.

 

You’ll be collaborating closely with key stakeholders to ensure commitment to process whilst delivering in line with best practice to meet our quality requirements. Championing our Zero Harm strategy, you will support and grow the zero harm culture of the team and the wider business, ensuring our teams embrace safe work practices in all their delivery.

 

About you:

 

With strengths both operationally and financially, you’ll bring your wide-ranging skills to the role. You’ll have experience managing operations, contracts, and people. In an ever-changing environment, you’ll be flexible and adaptable and be able to communicate changes across your team.

 

You’ll be committed to not only your own development, but that of your team, and actively seek out mentoring and development opportunities for them. Ideally, you’ll have  knowledge and understanding of surfacing operations and a relevant NZ Registered diploma OR at least three years of relevant experience .

 

Day to day you will be:

  • Delivering results in a commercially competitive environment
  • Empowering others to make decisions, deliver, and succeed
  • Understanding and delivering on safety requirements, enabling a zero harm environment
  • Planning and organising projects, as well as programming and scheduling works
  • Providing strong leadership, direction and management to the team
  • Developing, reviewing and negotiating variations to contracts, programs, projects and services
  • Resolving problems concerning contracts, programs, projects, services provided, and persons affected
  • Advising senior management on matters requiring attention and implementing their decisions and overseeing work by contractors and reporting on variations to work orders
  • Managing paperwork associated with contracts, programs, projects and services provided
  • Working with Project Managers, Architects, Engineering Professionals, owners and others to ensure that goals are met
