Job Description

Would you like to join a collaborative team of teaching professionals, to inspire a motivated student population to results of the very highest standard?

Macleans College is seeking an experienced teacher of mathematics to join their large and well resourced math department. This co-educational state school has earned a reputation as world-class, and students from New Zealand and around the world thrive in a positive environment where all students are encouraged, nurtured and prepared for successful lives beyond school.

You will bring your passion for mathematics to the classroom, and utilise differentiated learning to engage pupils in the subject.  If you have:

  • a mathematics degree and a recognised school teaching qualification that enables you to teach 11-18 year olds
  • strong emphasis on academic achievement
  • the ability and/or experience in teaching statistics to scholarship/A-level

then you may be the teacher we are looking for.

Macleans is very academically focused and offers both the NZ National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) and the Cambridge (CIE) curricula. Students also enjoy a wide range of extracurricular activities from sports to music, drama, cultural groups, service and academic competitions.
Located 25 minutes from the CBD, the college sits on the Eastern peninsula, with views of the Waitemata Harbour, and is well served by a wide range of local amenities in a picturesque part of Auckland.

You may be eligible for a $5000 overseas relocation grant from the Ministry of Education if you take up a teaching position in New Zealand. Now is a great time to come and teach in Aotearoa!
