Job Description

To lead the implementation of test engineering on new projects and client engagements. To work at client sites helping clients deliver quality IT solutions and business outcomes. To promote the adoption of testing approaches both internally within Assurity and externally to the wider ICT community, e.g. through presentations and education. Specialist in [integration - performance – automation] testing and possess an ability to understand the core components and concepts of enterprise architecture. To define and deliver internal coaching and training to upskill our Test Consultant capability across areas such as Tools, Technologies, Platforms and Techniques.

What you’ll be doing

Your core role

  • Provide test engineering consultancy to our clients
  • Lead technical stakeholder engagement and expectations at Project level
  • Provide technical consulting and guidance across test frameworks, platforms and tools
  • Develop test engineering frameworks and strategies for assigned projects
  • Manage test engineering
  • Evaluate new technologies and tools for use within assignment
  • Support the implementation of new technologies and tools
  • Assist throughout the business development process, identifying opportunities within existing clients and potential new clients, generating leads, attending and effectively contributing to pre-sales client meetings, framing customer solutions, and preparing for success on new engagements.
  • An ambassador for Assurity and able to talk to (potential) clients about their projects and where Assurity could provide solutions and/or growth.
  • Support the development of cross service solutions
  • Support the growth of Assurity staff in the test engineering space through mentoring and on the job training.

What you’ll need
Qualifications and experience

  • Relevant Degree or Tertiary qualification (IT, Technology, Computer Sciences) or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in test engineering or technical testing
  • Project management experience / understanding
  • Ability to learn and understand difficult and complex concepts quickly
  • Experience or knowledge with development tools such as:
    • o Maven/Gradle
  • o Jenkins/TeamCity
  • o Cucumber/Concordion
  • o Subversion/Bitbucket/Git
  • Experience in using, implementing and supporting both commercial and open source tools such as:
    • o Load Runner, JMeter, NeoLoad
    • o UFT, Selenium Web Driver, Rational Functional Tester, TOSCA
    • o SoapUI, Postman
    • o HP ALM, Atlassian Jira, Zephyr etc
  • Knowledge of software testing methods in both Agile and Waterfall environments
  • Extensive knowledge of at least one coding/scripting language, with working knowledge of others
  • Database skills including the ability to construct moderately complex SQL queries and understand database construction
  • Ability to relate well to the non-technical people and clearly explain technical concepts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • The ability to influence stakeholders to achieve a desired outcome.
  • Be able to understand client challenges and develop business from those.
