One of Central Auckland intermediate schools is looking for energetic and motivated Year 7 and 8 teachers to join their team for either fixed term or permanent positions at the start of the school academic year, end of January 2020.
“Learning today, leading tomorrow.” That’s the motto of this high-performing school, which is characterised by exceptional levels of achievement by students, strong leadership across the school, high-quality teaching programmes, and a professional environment that focuses on student progress.
The teachers are passionate and motivated leaders of learning in the Y7–8 age group. High levels of collaboration enhance teaching practice, helping to create innovative and creative approaches to teaching and learning across the school. The school has been modernised into learning commons (or innovative learning environments). There are usually 2 classes and 2 teachers in each space, with a variety of flexible spaces for students to break off into. This allows the students to develop independence and lead their own learning paths to a greater degree – better preparing them for our ever-changing digital society.
You will be entitled to a normal school allowance of $2,000 – this is in recognition that you will have trainee teachers in your class. They also offer the highly sought-after International Baccalaureate, primary years programme curriculum, and professional development will be provided.
The school supports the well-being of its teachers with a staff wellness programme unique to the school:
Located in Mt Eden, an outer suburb of central Auckland, this thriving community is known for its central location, history, great shops, and excellent cafe culture!
If you are a dedicated, passionate and professional educator of this age group - this role is too good an opportunity to miss!
This could be your opportunity to interview with Kristina Appleby, our General Manager Permanent Recruitment, as she’ll be in Ireland and the UK interviewing for this role between the 17 - 27 October 2019 (exact dates and locations to be confirmed).
