As Auckland embarks on a significant build programme of not just transport infrastructure, but housing, utility upgrades and commercial developments, keeping the city moving and improving customer experience is key.

The purpose of this role is to ensure that all planned activity in Auckland has holistic oversight, impacts on the transport system are well understood, activities are centrally coordinated and scheduled, and systems and processes are in place to deliver effective mitigation coordination and proactive communications to communities and affected parties.

To be considered for this role you will have:

  • A Tertiary degree of equivalent qualifications in a business related discipline
  • At least 10 years' experience in the Transport industry (preferably bus, train, roading operations and logistics)
  • 5-7 years' experience managing and building effective teams of technical specialists/experts in a large organisation
  • A good understanding of the transport industry and workings and functions of local government, including current and future business drivers and statutory requirements
  • Construction project management experience including working as part of a team on a variety of large and significant projects
  • Proven experience in continuity planning and management, logistics or supply chain management
  • Experience working with roadwork sites and in planning and scheduling works
  • An ability to develop and maintain strong strategic and operational relationships.
