About the Role:

The Auckland rail system is facing significant growth. Annual rail patronage, which currently exceeds 20m and makes up 22% of PT boardings, is expected to grow by 50% in the next 7 years.

The key purpose of the role includes the establishment and maintenance of an agreed Programme Business Case (PBC) for rail, and the development of individual Business Cases to support the priority investments identified in the PBC.

We require an exceptional professional to lead and manage the project teams responsible for planning and developing business cases to support rail development, and to identify and plan the initiatives required for future investment. 

What We Need:

The strategic projects managed by this role have high visibility, significant stakeholder interests, and multiple interdependencies. You will need to be passionate about rail, have excellent programme and project management skills, a high level of problem solving and decision-making skills. You will need a relevant tertiary qualification in Transport Planning, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline and a minimum of ten years' experience in feasibility studies and business case development. You will use your professional judgement and highly developed interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
