Job Description

We are welcoming applications from suitably qualified and experienced Midwives to work in a variety of settings throughout New Zealand including Delivery Suites, Maternity Wards, and Community Services.

Skills and Attributes required

 Relevant Midwifery qualification

  • Minimum of 2 years post-registration midwifery practice
  • Internationally qualified Midwives must be or have previously been registered in the same country in which they completed their midwifery education
  • Fluency and comprehension in English to be able to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with patients, colleagues and other health professionals
  • Clinical experience in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for women and babies
  • Strong commitment to the protection, promotion, and support of breastfeeding
  • The ability to make informed decisions that focus on providing quality maternity care for women
  • The ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals
  • Ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused


Applicants must be eligible for registration (or currently registered) with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand.  Please see the Midwifery Council of New Zealand for information about New Zealand registration and competency requirements. 

You will have the flexibility to work on rostered shifts and work a minimum of 30 hours per week.
