We are looking for registered nurses who:
  • Have knowledge and experience in surgical nursing and good understanding of the peri-operative patient journey
  • Can communicate well with all members of the multidisciplinary team, patients, and family
  • Display a professional attitude at all times
  • Can provide patient care that meets individual needs with preservation of dignity and confidentiality
  • Recognises patient’s rights and is sensitive to ethnic and cultural values.

To apply, you will need:
  • A minimum of two years’ experience as a Registered Nurse – ideally with Operating Theatre (Scrub side) experience  
  • To be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Nursing Council of New Zealand.

DOSA is a Mon-Fri department that has roster shifts between 0645 and 2100.  The ability to assess all elective and acute patients’ pre- and post-operatively is required. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure that the patient journey is a safe and positive experience.
  • Post Graduate Health Assessment is preferred
  • Ability to clearly articulate surgical instructions to patients and family


PACU has a rotational roster that covers a 24/7 service.  Advanced life support skills are required for all nursing staff in this area and nursing staff are encouraged to complete a post-graduate Critical Care Course.
Operating Theatre (Scrub Side)
Hours of work will be 40 per week, working rostered duties with overtime and on-call as required by the needs of the department. At least 2 years Operating Theatre (Scrub side) experience is required.
