Whether it’s our work on major projects like the:

  • City Rail Link in Auckland
  • Transmission Gully in Wellington
  • Milford Road in Fiordland
  • Cameron Road in Tauranga

As Project Director you will provide crucial leadership to enable a professional team to deliver project targets.  Being the interface between delivery and governance and being responsible for leading the team to make the work happen. 

 

You will have strong working relationships with the Delivery leadership team, the client and related parties, sound practical project experience, be highly responsive and experienced at building and leading high-performance teams.

 

 As Project Director you will have:

  • Proven experience with major civil infrastructure
  • Strong leadership capability
  • Experience in shaping and supporting high performance environments
  • Strong and effective communication skills
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders to deliver on their aspirations
  • Experience operating in collaborative environment
  • The ability to promote an environment which supports Downers philosophy of health and safety in the workplace

About you:

  • Degree level qualification in Business Management / Civil Engineering
  • A track record in managing teams of individuals to achieve quality results
  • Proven experience in managing the end to end delivery of a project
  • An understanding of the various procurement methods employed by clients and the impact of these methods to tender strategy
  • Successful track record of delivering in a challenging environment with tight deadlines
  • Exceptional negotiation and influencing skills
